About the Role

As a Pediatric BCaBA, you’ll work under the supervision of a BCBA to help children develop communication, social, behavioral, adaptive, and daily living skills that increase independence and participation in everyday life.

You’ll assist with assessments and treatment planning, provide direct ABA services, support and train RBTs as appropriate within your scope of practice, collaborate with our multidisciplinary team, and partner with families to promote consistency and generalization of skills.

Our approach emphasizes evidence-based, naturalistic, and play-based ABA, with a strong focus on functional communication, social engagement, emotional regulation, independence, and school-readiness skills within meaningful, real-life activities and routines.

What You’ll Do

Assessment & Treatment
Assist with behavioral and developmental assessments under BCBA supervision and provide evidence-based ABA services in individual and group settings.

Treatment Planning & Implementation
Collaborate with the supervising BCBA to develop, implement, monitor, and update individualized treatment plans targeting functional communication, social skills, adaptive behavior, emotional regulation, school readiness, independence, and daily living skills.

Naturalistic & Play-Based Intervention
Use evidence-based ABA principles within naturalistic, developmentally appropriate, and play-based activities to promote meaningful skill development and generalization.

Family Education & Collaboration
Under the direction of the supervising BCBA, support parents and caregivers in learning practical strategies to promote communication, behavior, independence, and skill development across home and community environments.

RBT Support & Training
Provide training, modeling, feedback, and clinical support to Registered Behavior Technicians as permitted within the BCaBA scope of practice and under appropriate BCBA supervision.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration
Work closely with CTSC’s team of BCBAs, RBTs, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, as well as outside educators and other professionals involved in each child’s care.

School Readiness & Functional Skill Development
Support children in developing communication, social, behavioral, self-help, and learning-readiness skills needed to participate successfully in preschool, school, home, and community environments.

Documentation
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions, data, progress, caregiver training, clinical activities, and other required services in accordance with CTSC, payer, and BACB requirements.

Early Intervention Services
Provide home-based Early Intervention services and participate in Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) meetings when applicable and appropriate to the BCaBA’s role.

Professional Development
Stay current with research, ethical requirements, and best practices in applied behavior analysis and pediatric care.

What We’re Looking For

• Current BCaBA certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

• Bachelor's degree in behavior analysis, psychology, education, or a related field

• Ability to meet applicable Colorado requirements for providing behavior analytic services

• Pediatric ABA experience preferred

• Experience with naturalistic and/or developmental behavioral approaches, such as ESDM, preferred

• Experience working with or supporting RBTs preferred

• CPR and First Aid certification required by start date

• Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, families, and colleagues

• Collaborative, team-oriented approach to care

• Ability to receive and implement clinical feedback and work effectively under BCBA supervision

• Ability to adapt interventions to a dynamic, active, and play-based pediatric environment

• Commitment to ethical, compassionate, evidence-based ABA

• Spanish-speaking preferred, but not required

Environmental/Physical Requirements:

Physical Demands:

• Frequent engagement with children ages birth to 18, including those with behavioral or sensory challenges.
• Frequent bending, squatting, crawling, and sitting on the floor to engage at a child’s level.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move frequently throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and carry infants and young children when necessary.
• Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations, to children in distress or during physical challenges.

Environmental Conditions:

• Work in a dynamic, child-focused clinic environment with noise, movement, and active play.
• Exposure to sensory-rich therapy environments including swings, obstacle courses, and therapy equipment.
• Occasional travel between clinic and home settings for Early Intervention services.
• Adherence to infection control protocols to limit exposure to illness.

Allergen Exposure Considerations:

• Potential exposure to common food allergens including peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, soy, wheat, fish, and shellfish.
• Employees must follow strict hand hygiene and infection control protocols.
• Contact with therapy materials (e.g., play dough, foam, latex, cleaning products) that may trigger allergic reactions.
• Possible exposure to pet dander or environmental allergens in home-based settings.
